History

The Crow Lake Schoolhouse operated as a school until the 1960’s, after which it was transferred to the former Oso Township.
An addition to the original schoolhouse which contains a large kitchen facility (appliances included) and washrooms was added in 2006.
The original school bell was not included in the sale of the property by the Township but the owner was able to purchase an original school bell from 1886 that was from a one-room schoolhouse in the same County.
After the purchase of the property in December 2021, the owner named the business Archie’s Place, in honour of the owner’s father, Archie Meeks, who was an active member of the community and Council for decades. The owner is working on having a Museum of the Schoolhouse to honor the rich heritage in the Community. If you have any items you would like to donate to the museum, please contact us.
